Teaching

I serve as the Americanist, methods instructor, and pre-law faculty member in the USCA political science program. I also founded and co-coach the Pacer Mock Trial team. My teaching interests run the gamut of American politics and also include statistics and other interdisciplinary areas of political science.

My teaching style emphasizes high impact practices and active learning among my students. Students in my methods class complete an original empirical research project and methods classes taking place in the fall of a federal election participate in the USCA SSBRL exit polls series to learn about public opinion research. Similarly, Pacer Mock Trial teaches trial techniques through active simulation.
